Resolved by the senate and House of representatives of the United States of America
in Congress assembled. That the commissioner of Pensions be and he is hereby authorised
to employ by the day, such an additional number of clerks as the public service in
his office may require, and that the sum of Eleven thousand ^nine hundred & 88^ dollars ^988.^ be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purpose aforesaid.
