Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That there be paid to the purchasers, or to the legal representatives of the purchasers, of one hundred and twenty-eight tracts of land in township one south, range seven east, in the State of Michi- gan, (the original surveys, returns, plats, and field-notes whereof have been found by the surveyor general, upon a resurvey, to have been erroneous, deceptive, and untrue,) the several sums for de- ficiencies and damages found or to be found due to them re- spectively, in virtue of the provisions of the resolution entitled “A resolution relative to errors and defective returns in certain surveys, plats, and field-notes,” approved August tenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six—to be paid by the Secretary of the Treas- ury, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropria- ted, according to such regulations as he shall prescribe: Provi- ded, That said sums so to be paid shall not in the aggregate ex- ceed the amount of twelve thousand dollars. |
