Resolved By the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in
CONGRESS ASSEMBLED,
That the Librarian of Congress be, and is hereby, directed to procure and deliver
to the Secretary of State, two copies of volumes six and seven, of the narrative of
the exploring expedition under Captain Wilkes; and the Secretary of State is hereby,
directed to deliver them to the Government of Russia, in lieu of those heretofore
delivered, which were lost at sea on their passage to Russia; and that the cost of
the same be paid out of the funds heretofore appropriated to the publication of the
works of the exploring expedition.

Resolved, That the ^Resolution^ Bill from the House of Representatives entitled
“Joint Resolution directing that the government of Russia be supplied with certain volumes of the narrative of the Exploring Expedition, in lieu of those which were lost at Sea” do pass with the following
Amendments.
At the end of the Resolution add the following:
“Sec 2. And be it further resolved, That the Librarian of Congress deliver one copy
of the works of the Exploring Expedition as they shall be completed to the Secretary
of State to be presented by him to the Government of Ecuador.”
Amend the title by adding thereto:
