Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
THATthe proper accounting officers of the treasury be, and they are hereby, directed to audit and settle the claim of Major R. L. Baker, of the Ordnance Corps, for the difference of pay and compensation between the grades of Captain and Major, from the first of May, eighteen hundred and twenty-eight, to the thirty-first day of October, eighteen hundred and thirty-four, according to the decision of the Secretary of War on the twenty-second day of January, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight; and the amount found due shall be paid to him out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
