An act for the relief of Debtors to The President and Directors of the State Bank of Illinois
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That in all cases where ^such^ debtors ^(Collectors excepted)^ shall desire to make prompt payment of their Debts, they shall be permitted to do
so at any time before the fourth day of July in the year 1836, and shall be entitled
to a deduction of all interest due or to become due in and by said Debts, and in all
cases execution shall be stayed until the fourth day of July in the year 1836. Provided, when in the opinion of the ^attorney General or^ States Attorney of the proper Circuit there shall be manifest danger of Debts being
lost by such delay, the execution shall not be stayed unless the judgment debtor will
give additional security to be entered on the back of the execution, or on the dockett or record from whence the same issued, and witnessed by the sheriff or other officer
having charge of the same. And the security so entered shall be considered as a new
party to such judgment and execution, and may be proceeded against by a new execution,
jointly with the original debtor or debtors.
This act to be in force from and after its passage
