A Bill for
An act To amend an act to Licence and regulate Taverns
Section 1 Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois Represented in the general assembly,
That hereafter the county commissioners courts of each and every county in this State shall at the time of granting a Licence under the act to which this is an amendment demand of and from the person receiving the same a sum not less than twenty five dollars or more than fifty dollars taking into consideration the stand where such Tavern is to be located or opened, which sum so received shall by the said commissioners ^be^ paid to the county Treasurer of said County which Licence so granted shall a^u^thorize such person to keep a Tavern and retail Liquors for the Term of one year.
Section 2
No person or persons other than such as are or shall be qualified so to do by the ^act^ to which this is an amendment, presume under any colour or pretence whatever, to sell or barter with or deliver any wine rum brandy, gin, whiskey or other spirits spirituos Liquors or strong water, or any mixed or strong Liquors, to be used, ^or^ within his or her houses yards or sheds or to be with his her or their knowledge privity or consent, used or drank nor to retail or sell to any person or persons any wine, rum, brandy, gin, whiskey or other spirituos Liquor or strong water by less quantity than one or measure than one gallon. The same liquors being respectively to one person and at one time without collusion or found contrary to the true intent and meaning of this act, and the act to which this is an amendment Every person offending herein shall pay a fine on conviction of fifty dollars, befo by Indictment or before any Justice of the peace of the proper county for the use of said courts so much

of the act to which this is an amendment, as comes within the meaning and purview of this act be and the same is hereby repealed. This act to take effect from and after its passage.
