Resolved ^Resolved^, By the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, That the Public printer, be and he is hereby required to print 28002 copies of the Laws of the present session: And 1000-copies of the Journals of each house both Houses of this General assembly.3 And that he is further, required to cause said Laws to be bound, in good, substantial half binding, similar to the manner in which the private acts, of last session, were bound; also, that the Journals be folded, stiched, and covered, in the same manner, that they were of the last session, in accordance, with a law passed at the present session, regulating & defining the duties of public printer

1Newton Cloud introduced this resolution in the House of Representatives on January 20, 1835. The House referred the resolution to the Committee of the Whole and made it the order of the day for the evening session. On January 22, the House discharged the Committee of the Whole from further consideration and referred the resolution to a select committee. The select committee reported back the resolution on January 23 with an amendment. The House amended the resolution by filling in the first blank with “2800.” The House voted 30 to 22 against filling the second blank with “1200,” Abraham Lincoln voting in the negative. The House filled the second blank with “1000.” The House passed the resolution as amended. On January 26, the Senate referred the resolution to the Committee on Finance. The Committee on Finance reported back the resolution on January 27 without amendment, recommending its adoption. The Senate concurred in the resolution.
