AN ACT for the relief of a person therein named.
12County commissioners of Morgan county required to consider the claims of Wm. Spencer.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the county commissioners of Morgan be, and they are hereby authorized and required to take into consideration a certain
claim set up by William Spencer, a citizen of said county, praying a remuneration for damages he sustained by the sale of section numbered
sixteen, in township thirteen north, of range nine west.3
If found just, how paid.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That if it shall appear to the satisfaction of the court that the claim is just, they shall authorize the Trustees of the township aforesaid,
to pay said Spencer any sum not exceeding seventy-five dollars, as they may think just, out of the money
which accrued from the sale of said section, and it shall be the duty of the School
Commissioner to pay the Trustees the money to be appropriated as they may deem just.
This act to take effect from and after its passage.

1John Wyatt introduced this bill to the House of Representatives on January 20, 1835. The House passed the bill on January 24. The Senate referred the bill to a select committee on January 31. The committee reported back
on February 9 and recommended an amendment, to which the Senate concurred and passed
the bill. The House rejected the Senate amendment on February 11. The Senate receded
their amendment on February 13. The Council of Revision approved the bill later that day and the act became law.
