AN ACT to repeal “an act to improve the breed of Cattle.”
1The act to improve the breed of cattle, repealed.
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the “act to improve the breed of cattle,” approved 16th January 1836, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

1Newton Cloud introduced HB 2 in the House of Representatives on December 15, 1836. The House voted to read the bill a second time, by a vote
of 75 in favor to 5 against, Abraham Lincoln voting yes. On December 19, the House declined to refer the bill to the Committee
on Agriculture, by a vote of 13 in favor to 71 against, Lincoln voting yes. The House
then passed the bill without amendment, by a vote of 81 in favor to 4 against, Lincoln
voting yes. On December 21, the Senate passed the bill without amendment by a vote of 32 in favor to 6 against. On December
24, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
