Sec[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That it shall be the, and is hereby made the duty of the county commissioners court of Sangamon County at the next march term of said court to make an order requiring the clerk of Said county to give public notice that he will receive proposals until the 1^st day of May next for the building a recorder’s and clerks office for Sangamon county fire proof, and that each office be at least 20 feet square. The stories of said office shall not be less than ten feet high and it shall thereupon become the duty of said clerk to give such public notice for at least thirty days before the Said 1^st day of may next.

Sec 2. The Said county commissioners Court Shall after the receiving of said proposals at the next June term of said court, or at a special term to be held for that purpose, on the first Monday in may, proceed to contract with the person proposing to erect Said offices for the least sum immediately, and should there not be funds in the treasury of Said county of Sangamon sufficient to build said offices, then and in that case the county commissioners of said county of Sangamon be and they are hereby empowered to borrow upon the credit of

the county of Sangamon so much money as will complete the said offices.

Sec 3. That Said offices shall be erected upon the north west corner of the public Square immediately South of the market house.
