To the Speaker of the H of Rep Sir,
The Joint Resolution of the 26th of June 1848, directed the P. M. Genl to examine the claim of David Shaw & Solomon T. Corser for carrying the mail on Route No 4 between Portland & Augusta in the State of Maine & ascertain whether any sum of money was justly & equitably due them & if so to pay them In compliance therewith I have carefully examined the claim & transmit the dicision to the House in which the Resolution originated
