Sec[Section] 1 Be it inacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the general assembly that Thomas Forker[,] Enoch Smith and Samuel Cook, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to view marke and locate a road to commence at or near the late residence of pitman Hawes, thence via the town of Caladonia and down the Ohio River to Trinity
Sec 2. the said commissioners or a majority of them shall meet at Trinity on the first Monday in June next or within three months thereafter and after being sworn before some Justice of the peace faithfully to discharge the dutys enjoined upon them by this act, shall proceed to view mark & locate the said road upon the best and most direct route between the points named in the first section of this act
Sec 3. upon such location being made the said commissioners or any two of them shall make a report of the same to the County Commissioners Court of Alexander County, and the said court shall cause the said road be opened and kept in repare, & the said road is hereby declared ^to be^ a state road
Sec 4. the commissioners hereby appointed shall be paid out of the County treasure of Alexander County a fare compensation for the time they ^may^ be nessarily ^employed^ in locating said road, to be allowed by the County Commissioners. this act to take affect and be in force from and after its passage
