Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the General Assembly, That the acts and proceedings of the assessor or assessors and of the Collector of Pope County for the year 1839, are declared to be legal and shall be considered [?] binding on all persons, notwithstanding said assessors and collector may not have made their returns and reports in the time required by the act entitled “an act concerning the public Revenue,” approved February 26th 1839; and further time is given said collector to collect and pay over the amount of tax assessed in said county untill the first day of June next: Provided, however, that the amount collected shall be paid over at the end of each month by the collector as is now provided by law.
