Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly, That so much of the State road leading from Winchester in Scott county to Meacham’s ferry on the Illinois river as lies between the South line of Alexander McClure’s farm and the South end ofWilliam McLaughlin ’s lane, be, and the same is hereby vacated.

1On December 12, 1839, John J. Hardin in the House of Representatives presented the petition of citizens of Scott County, requesting vacation of part of a state road. The House referred the petition to a select committee. In response to this petition, Hardin of the aforesaid select committee introduced HB 114 in the House on December 13. The House passed the bill on December 23. The Senate ordered the bill to third reading, but did not read the bill a third time.
