Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, Represented in the General Assembly, That the provisions of an act entitled “an act to increase the corporate powers of the town of Chester,” in force February the 12th, 1839, shall not be so construed as to authorize the citizens of the town of Chester to vote for Justices of the Peace and Constables in the Justice’s precinct in which said town of Chester is situated.
Sec 2 The board of Trustees of said town shall have power to appoint a Secretary, Treasurer, Assessor, Collector, Street Commissioner and Such other officers as the Trustees may deem necessary any thing in the eighth section of the act to Which this is an amendment to the contrary notwithstanding.
