Sec[Section] 1 Be it enacted by the people of State of Illinois represented in the Generals Assembly That one Justice of the peace, in addition to the one now allowed by law shall be elected in the La Harpe district in the County of Hancock which Justice so elected shall reside in the Town of La Harpe in said district
Sec 2nd The County Commissioners Court of Hancock County are hereby required to cause an election to be held on the first Monday of April next, or as soon thereafter as practicable, and at each quadrenial election thereafter for one Justice of the peace in said district in addition to those now allowed by law. The Justice of the peace so elected shall hold his office until the next general election for Justices of the peace and until his successor shall be elected and qualified as in other cases, and the Justice so elected shall have the same jurisdiction and be governed in all respects by the same regulations as other Justices of the Peace
