AN ACT to amend an act, entitled “An act to incorporate the Rock Island Mutual Fire Insurance Company.”
1Further powers granted to corporation
Sec.[Section] 1. Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly, That the said corporation, in addition to the powers heretofore granted, by the act to which this is an amendment,
are hereby authorized to take risks, and effect insurances, on all classes of personal
property within the limits of this State.
Approved, January 18, 1840.
1On December 31, 1839, Senator George W. Harrison introduced SB 53 in the Senate. On January 7, 1840, the Senate passed the bill. On January 11, the House of Representatives passed the bill. On January 18, the Council of Revision approved the bill and the act became law.
