An act to amend an act entitled an act to amend an act prescribing the mode of Summoning
Grand and petit Jurors and defineing their qualifications ^and^ duties approved February 13th 1835
1Sec[Section] 1st Be it enacted by the people of the State of Illinois represented in the general Assembly: that the County Commissioners Court of the Several Counties in this State be required to make an allowance out of the County treasury of their respective counties
of the Sum of one dollar and fifty cents to all Grand and petit jurors who Shall be
regularly Summoned and Shall actually Serve as Such in their Circuit Courts of their respective counties
Sec 2nd that the first Section and the proviso contained in the Second Section of the act
to which this is an amendment be and the Same is hereby repealed
this act to take effect from and after its passage

1Wyatt B. Stapp introduced HB 39 in the House of Representatives on December 19, 1839. The House referred the bill to a select committee. The select
committee reported back the bill on December 28 with amendments, in which the House
concurred. The House passed the bill as amended on January 13, 1840. The House reported
the bill’s passage to the Senate, but the latter took no action.
