Resolved that the Committee on Post offices and Post Roads be instructed to inquire,
into as far as practible, and report to this House how many if any Post Masters or Assistant Post Masters
are engaged in the service of the Department who cannot read or write, with the names
of all such persons, the date of their appointment and the office at which they are
engaged.
