From my personal knowledge of the duties required of the Post Master at South Quay
Va. I do not hesitate to say that they are of such a character as to consume nearly
the whole time of the Post-Master, and can Safely reccommend to the favourable consideration
of Congress the propriety of making an extra allowance to The Post Master for his Services as the commissions of said office are altogether inadequate.
I further state that the Post Master at South Quay is very attentive to the duties
of the office, doing all in his power to promote the interests of the Department.
