To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States
The petition of the undersigned citizens of Montgomery Berks, and Lehigh Counties in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Respectfully Sheweth That owing to the change of circumstances and various other causes they labour under disadvantages for want of a Mail Route from Norristown by Worcester Skippack Salfordville Sumneytown, Upper Hanover Hereford, Macungy and Trexlerstown to Foglesville, A draft or plot whereof is herewith presented, your petitioners also further represent that said Macungy, Trexlerstown and Foglesville are on Route 1455 from Foglesville to Spring House and that said Norristown, Worcester, Skippack, Salfordville Sumneytown Upper Hanover and Hereford are on Route 1431 From Norristown to Kutztown And that if the proposed route from Norristown to Foglesville were established there would be many advantages and conveniences conferred on the citizens of the said Counties, and the public generally which it is impossible to enjoy under the present arrangement of the Mail routes in their vicinity
They therefore humbly pray your honourable bodies to Establish ^by Law^ a Mail rout as above mentioned from Norristown by Worcester Skippack, Salfordville Sumneytown Upper Hanover Hereford, Macungy and Trexlerstown to Foglesville a distance of miles, And they will pray &c
