To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in General
Assembly Convened.
We the undersigned Citizens of the Counties of Defiance and Paulding Ohio, Would respectfully ask leave to Petition Your Honorable body for the Erection
of a Post-route from Defiance in Defiance Co by way of Brunersburgh toSnooksvill thence to Cranesvill in Paulding Co thence to Wodsworthvill thence to Hicksvill in Defiance County thence to [Pannima?] a distance of about thirty five Miles, suplying at leas Seven postoffices and alarge
portion of the County who1 are2 now compelled to travel a distance of Eight miles for all the mail they get. [2dly?] The rout on the south side, of the Maumee river has been discontinued; and Carryes
by way of the Canal, leaving the river at the Town of Antwerp; & not touching the
river again untill it reaches Defiance, leaving the Offices of Cranesvill & Wesburgh
without a Mail. ^And as in Duty bound will Ever pray.^
