in ^com^pliance with a recquisition of the members of a public meeting in this place which
took place on the 24th
ultimo. I write you a few lines, accompaining a petition for the establishment of
a mail rout direct from Wetumpka to Talledaga via Nixburg, Socopatoy
^and^ Brownsville, to to enjoin it upon you to exert your influence in Congress to effect the pasedge
of an act to establish to that effect As for the necesity and expediency
&c. of the establishment of the above named rout, and the derangement existing at
present in the mail affairs; I deem it necessary only to refer you to a no. of the
State Guard which will acco^m^pany this as it contains an article purporting the proceedings and sense of the above
named meeting upon that subject
The form of the petition or its modification &c. we now intrust to you confiding
in your promped attention to ^the^ intrest of Coosa and your constituants.
