To the Honorable the Congress of the United States,
The undersigned petitioners, citizens of the county of Daviess State of Mo. labour under great inconvenience for the want of a mail rout from Brunswick in the county of Chariton state of Mo. Via Utica, to Gallatin in the Co. of Daviess State of Mo. a distance of about Sixty miles. By the present mail routs our mail is taken from Keyt[e]sville, via Linneus in the county of Linn, Chillicothe and Naves Store in the Co. of Livingston to Gallatin, a distance of upwards of one hundred miles, which makes our mail at least one week later than the mail at Brunswick. Whereas, if we had a mail from Brunswick via Utica, we could have the mail in one and a half or two days. We therefore pray your Honorable body to establish the above rout, and your petitioners, as in duty bound, will ever pray.
