The Honourable Senate and House of Representatives in Congress assembled in the City of Washington The undersigned citizens of Henry County & State of Ohio pray your Honourable Body to pass a law Establishing a post road From Tiffin in Senaca County ohio, via, Bascum & Rome in Said County & Resdon & VanBuren in Hancock county thence Along the road leading along the South Shugarridge to Abraham Baughmans in Putnam County thence to Medary in sd Putnam County thence the road leading to Defiance in Defiance County your petitioners would represent that there is no Post Office from Van Buren afore named to Defiance Except Medary the Distance being 44 miles & the Medary Office is Supplied from the South, and that that there is no route running East & West through a Territory of 29 miles between the Blanchards Fork of the Auglaize River to the Maume river whilst the whole distance is Settled For this your petitioners will Ever pray Nov 19th 1847
