To the Honerable the Senate and house of Representatives of the united states in Congress asseembled. The undersigned, citizens of the State of Ia—and of the Counties of Putnam, Owen,
Monroe, and Lawrence, would humbly represent to your honerable
Boddy; That a weekly mail-rout commencing at Putnamville in Putnam county, running thence by the Cateract, Spencer,
and whitehall owen county, Thence by Stanford monroe county, and Thence to Springville
in Lawrence county highly conducive would be highly conducive to the publick convenience. Said rout it is believed would not augment the expence of the post office departmt, but on the contrary it is presumed that the proffits of said rout would more than remunerate all expence
