I have the honor to return the enclosed petition agreeably to your request of 12th
inst.
There is a post route by the existing law from Greenville, by New Castine to Hagerstown,
but from Hagerstown to Eaton, the road, has never been declared a post route by act
of Congress which will be required before the Postmaster General can order service
to be placed upon it.
