To the Senate and house of representatives of the united states
Your Memorialists residents of the county of Lawrence and state of Indiana respectfully represent unto your honerable bodies that there is no direct mail rout from Salem in washington county in said state by the way of Leesville in said county of Lawrence to the town of Bloomington in Monrow county in said state that the public interest greatly require that such mail route should be forthwith established and that a post office be established at Mount Carmel in Washington county and also one at Fairfax in the county of Monroe on said rout For which we will ever pray &c
