To the Hon. the Senate & House of Representatives in Congress assembled.
We the undersigned Citizens of the State of Michigan, earnestly Petition to your honorable
body to grant & establish a Mail Route, from Marshall in Calhoun county to Michigan
(the Capitol of this state) in Ingham County, by the way of Eaton Rapids in the County
of Eaton, on the most Direct and feasible [route?], & we further Pray, that the Mail may be transported on the same daily, or [no less than two?] times per week, if it is not Deemed practicable to establish a Daily Mail on said
Route. the above Route is of great importance to this state, & much needed by the
Citizens thereof, & we humbly hope that our Prayer may be granted.
