Hon: T. B. King
The undersigned citizens of Lowndes County most respectfully request the favor of your influence in Congress for the Establishment of a Mail Rout, from Troupville Geoa to Columbus Florida The distance is about 38 Miles with a good road at all times between the two places & near the County line in the lower part of this County there is a populous settlement as inconveniently situated with regard to Mails as perhaps any portion of Georgia. We believe the line would defray its Expences & we will be much obliged to you if you will endeavor to have it Established, Clyattville about 12 miles from Tronpville would be a very suitable place for an office & James N. Clyatt who Keeps store there a suitable person for postmaster, so soon as you can ascertain the propability of having this rout established you will confer a favor on the undersigned by writing to Mr Jas Hyatt on the subject,
Yours &c.
