We the undersigned Petitioners being residents at Norway and its vicinity would respectfully represent that the country on and adjacent to the east bank of Fox River between Ottawa, Lasalle County and Oswego in Kendal County is very poorly supplied with post office privileges, that said Country upon the east side of Fox is quite densely populated and far advanced in improvements, containing as many elements of civilization as many of the older settlements, that said settlements upon the east bank of Fox River being confined to the timber and groves, form one extended settlement, and cannot be supplied profitably by any cross mail, that the only mail route which can supply the imperious wants of said community with post office privileges, is a route fromt Ottawa Via Norway Newark Oswego to Napierville in Dupage County, that said route is on one of the principal Market roads leading from Ottawa to the City of Chicago Via Nap[...?]erville and your petitioners would most humbly solicit your Honorable Body to pass an act to establish said route as above described
