Petition.
Whereas there is but one mail Rout that affords ^us^ any Western Facilities, only the one from New Orleans, La. by Mobile Ala. by Pensacola Fla. by Milton, by Geneva Ala. to Marianna Fla.
From Marianna, a weekly ^mail^ to Ucheeanna Walton ^County^ which is 60 miles due West from Marianna, towards Milton. Then a special weekly mail Rout to Alaqua P. O.—10, 0r 12 miles more due West towards Milton.
Then 60 more miles West to Milton, which there is no mail on, and for the want of a mail route from Alaqua P. O. to milton. The citizens of Walton County & part of Holmes County, suffer great inconvenience; By establishing amail Rout from Ucheeanna to Milton, we would receive the Western mail one week sooner, than by the rout now in use.
We the undersigned Petitioners do ask Congress to Establish amail rout, from Ucheeanna by Alaqua P. O. to Milton, and back one time in each week. For which we feel Bound to pray, &c.
