The Petition of the undersigned Citizens of Columbia County would Humbly represent that whereas the Courts of said County are now held in Bloomsburg instead of Danville, it becomes necessary therefore that mail facilities should be so aranged as to accomodate this and other counties and the Community at large in the best possible manner, Your Petitioners would Humbly suggest the propriety of a Law causing the present mail rout from Pottsville to Cattawissa to start from Pottsville and end at Towanda Bradford County instead of Branching from the Northumberland rout and stoping four miles short of the now seat of Justice as at present, also that said mail be carried daily (except Sunday) direct from Pottsville to Bloomsburg and continue from Bloomsburg via orangeville three times a week to Towanda, and three times per week from Bloomsburg via Jerseytown & Whitehall to muncy so as to connect with the line now runing from Northumberland to Williamsport Lycoming County. this would make a direct line from Philadelphia via Reading & Pottsville Rail road to Bloomsburg, and thence to Williamsport, Towanda and connecting at Bloom with the line from Harrisburg to Wilkes barre. and your Petitioners as in duty bound will pray
