We your petitioners, Sheweth to your Honorable bodies, that we reside in the county of Franklin and State of Alabama; And in a Section of said County, where we are, from our isolated Situation, entirely distitute of an[y?] mail fecilities, unless we travel a considerable distance t[o?] the nearest post office, which is ^a^ burden and an i[nconvenient?] ma[tt?]er [for us to get any mail?] matter whatev[er?], And also we will further represent to you, that we are dnsly populated, in ^this^ part of Our said Section of Fran[k?]lin County, and that there is a public road leading from [R?]usselville, the Seat of Justice, for said County, to W^m Dickson’s on Buzzard Roost, a distance of about thirty three miles, through the midst of our neighbourds. We therefore petition and desire, that the said road be made a mail rout from Russelville, to Buzzard Roost, so that the mail may be carried Once a week, on the said route, which arrangement w[o?]uld be a matter of very great Interest and Convenienc[e?] to us, and for which we your petitioners, would as in duty bound ever pray &c.
