TO THE HONORABLE CAVE JOHNSON, POST MASTER GENERAL.
The petition of the undersigned, citizens of Monroe and Randolph counties, in the
state of Illinois, respectfully beg leave to represent, that their interests and convenience
would be greatly promoted by the establishment of a weekly mail route from Waterloo,
in Monroe county, by way of Red Bud, Evansville, and Ellis’ Grove, to Chester, Randolph
county; and by the establishment of Post Offices at Evansville and at Ellis’ Grove,
on said route.
