We the undersigned petitioners of Steuben County Indiana respectfully represent that the public necessity requires that your Honorable body establish a Mail Rout commencing at Lima I.a. and extending by way of Lexington to Jackson, Steuben ^&^, Hamilton of aforesaid State. Thence to Saint Joseph, William’s Centre, Washington, ^&^ Bennersburgh, to Defiance Ohio, Intersecting the Southern Mail from1 Cincinnatti by way of Miami Canal: which opens a direct communication to Chicago Illinois and the western part of the United States. And by so doing your Petitioners will ever pray ^to be Carried at Least once a weak^
