we your petioners of of the County of Whiteside & State of Illinois would beg leave to represent that we suffer great inconvenience & privations for the want of a Mail route commencing at Peru in the state of Illinois (via) Princeton, Winebago York Town Washington Street Bennington, Crandalls—Ferry, from thence passing down Rock River on the north side to Atica Fairport, Gortons Grove, Pleasant Valley, to Rock Island. We would further represent that this section of country above mentioned is neerly all destitute of Mail facility & neerly all of the route a well populated country. we therefore ask for the above mentioned Mail route to be established & your Petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
