To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in Congress Assembled:
The undersigned, your petitioners citizens in part of the Townships of New London London Brittian and New Garden in Chester County State of Pennsylvania and others residents of New Castle County, State of Delaware contiguous to the above-named districts respectfully represent
That, your petitioners are subjected to many disadvantages on account of ^their^ inconvenience to Post Offices and the want of a mail route through their vicinity, in which is embraced several villages and manufacturing establishments doing a buisiness which it is believed will fully warrant the expense that may be incurred by increasing their facilities for communication with our Cities and other portions of the Country. Your petitioners would therefore respectfully ask your honorable bodies to take into consideration the expediency of enacting a law, establishing a mail route, connecting Avondale Post Office in Chester County, Pa, with that of Stanton in New Castle County, Del. The former situate at the point where the line from the City of Wilmington, Del, with th to the City of Lancaster, Pa, intersects the great mail route from the City of Philadelphia, to the City of Baltimore; the latter on the route from Wilmington, Del, to the City of Baltimore. The contemplated new route to pass through the village of Chesterville, via Chandlersville and Pleasant Hill
And your petitioners will ever pray &c
