The Petition of the undersigned humbly sheweth, that the sections of country in which they reside are lamentably deficient of mail facilities, and they humbly petition that the following mail route be established and that Post offices at the places mentioned be also established, To wit, The route commencing at the city of Wetumpka run up to Nixburgh ^Quitman^ Coosa ^Autauga^ co from thence to Socapatoy ^Chesnut Creek^ Tallapoosa, ^ Coosa ^ ^Autauga^ Co from thence to [...?] ^Waxahatchey^ Tallapoosa ^Shelby^, co, from thence to Brownsville, Talledega, co, from thence to Fayetteville, Talledega co from thence to Columbiana or ^Montevallo^ Shelby co, and from thence on back to the city of Wetumpka, by way of Waxahatcha Shelby, co, chesnut creek Autauga co, and Little Fork ^Quitman^, Autauga, co, with a Post office established at the several places named &c.
Your petitioners further shoueth that by this route, to be supplied by a horse mail semi weekly, if possible, or weekly a distance of one hundred and forty ^sixty^ miles of a section of country densely populated, will have mail facilities afforded them, and that Five offices including Wetumpka, will be opened. Your Petioners feel [assured?]

that this their petition needs no proof or argument to sustain it, as by a simple reference to a Map its plausibility & desirability is apparent.
These offices and these portions of our state swarming with inhabitants will it appears to your petitioners be amply sufficient to pay what expense may be incurred in carrying out their request. They, your petitioners, crave a favorable consideration of your [hands?] of this matter, as they will ever pray &c.
