To the Hon Sennate and House of Representatives in Congress assembled
we your Petitioners of Fair Port in Rock Island County and State of Illinois would
Respectfully represent that they Suffer Great inconvenience and privations for the
want of a Mail route from Perue in the State of Illinois; via, Princeton Winebago, York Town, Washington Street Bennington Crandall’s Ferry, from thence down Rock
River on the North side to Attica Fairport Gortons Grove Pleasant Valley to Rock Island.
we would further represent that the above mentioned route is nearly all destitute
of Mail facility, and is a well Populated Country we therefore Respectfully ask the
Establishment of the above mentioned route and your Petitioners as in Duty bound will
ever pray
