To the Honorable the Postmaster General ^To the Hon. the Senate & Representatives in Congress Assembled^ Sir
Whereas your petitioners labour under considerable difficulties oweing to the want of a direct communication by mail from the city of Washington P.a they would suggest that the mail route which now ends at Smiths ferry be continued on to Ohioville from thence to Darlington all in Beaver Co P.a and on the state road leading from Washington to Darlington, if it please your honor to grant your petitioners there request it will confer a benefit to the community and your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray
