The undersigned petition the Congress of the United States for the establishment of
the following mail Routes in the State of Mississippi. To wit from Williamsburg in
Covington County by Benj Rawles to Paulding in Jasper County From Paulding by Leakesville
to Mobile Alabama. This service to be weekly semi weekly or tri weekly at the option
of the Post Master General

Note. Benj Rawles’ is about midway between Williamsburg and Paulding the centre of
a densely populated district of country and fifteen miles distance from the nearest
Post office
Leaksville is seat of justice for Green County is at present poorly supplied with
mail facilitiesMobile is the trading point for the entire county & there is no direct mail to that
city from Leaksville
