To the Honorable the Senate & House of Representatives In Congress Assembled
Your petitioners would respectfully represent, that they suffer great inconviance for the want of proper mail facilities and would ask for an establishment of a mail route from Manny in Sabine Parish to Burr’s Ferry a distance of about Forty miles the most direct route would pass through settlements nearly [centeral?] of the Parish and in your petitioners firmly believe would be of great public utility.
We would further say that there was a a mail route established from Fort Jessup to Burr’s Ferry passing over the same route but was neve put into opperation owing to a mistake as to distance as in duty bound will ever pray.
