To the Honorable the Senate & House of Representatives of the United States in Congress assembled
The undersigned petitioners, citizens of the Counties of Jo Daviess & Stephenson in the State of Illinois respectfully represent,
That a large tract of country, thickly settled, lying between Freeport in the County of Stephenson and Elizabeth in the County of Jo Daviess in the State of Illinois, is entirely destitute of mail facilities; we therefore respectfully but earnestly pray your honorable body to pass a law establishing a mail route from Freeport in the County of Stephenson and State of Illinois to Elizabeth in the County of Jo Daviess in said State and as in duty bound we will pray &c
