IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT
A JOINT RESOLUTION
RELATIVE TO A MAIL ROUTE FROM SALEM TO BLOOMINGTON.
Whereas, There is no direct mail route from Salem, in Washington county, in this State, by the way of Mount Carmel, through Leesville and Feltonsville, in Lawrence county, and Fairfax to Bloomington, in Monroe county, in this State, and the public good demands such a route should be established, and that post offices should be established at the town of Fairfax, in Monroe county, and Mount Carmel, in Washington county: Therefore,
Section 1. Be it resolved by the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, That our Senators in Congress be instructed, and our Representatives in Congress be requested, to use their influence to procure the establishment of such mail route, and the establishment of the post offices aforesaid.
Sec. 2. Be it further resolved as aforesaid, That the Governor of this State be requested to transmit a copy of this resolution to each of our Senators and Representatives in Congress at as early a day as practicable.
