Your petitioners labor under serious disadvantages from want of a mail rout commencing
at Chandlersville Muskingum County O, thence running on the Marietta road to David
Stevens, thence to Furman Dye’s store, thence on the Barnsville road to Hoskinsville
in Brookfield Township Morgan County Ohio.
The establishment of the above rout would accommodate a large number of the reading
population that at present is deprived of the circulation of public news.
A large majority of your petitioners live a distance of eight or ten miles from any
post office and would respectfully ask your Honor to establish the above rout and
appoin[t?] the following individuals Post Masters according to law. Absolom Stecher of Meigs
Township, Furman Dye of Brookfield Township
your petitioners desire a weekly mail
