Your petitioners labor under serious disadvantages from want of a mail rout commencing at Chandlersville Muskingum County O, thence running on the Marietta road to David Stevens, thence to Furman Dye’s store, thence on the Barnsville road to Hoskinsville in Brookfield Township Morgan County Ohio.
The establishment of the above rout would accommodate a large number of the reading population that at present is deprived of the circulation of public news.
A large majority of your petitioners live a distance of eight or ten miles from any post office and would respectfully ask your Honor to establish the above rout and appoin[t?] the following individuals Post Masters according to law. Absolom Stecher of Meigs Township, Furman Dye of Brookfield Township
