To the Postmaster general ^senate and House of Representatives^ of the United States.Gentlemen
We the undersigned inhabitants of the town of Lynchburg and vicinity in the Counties of Highland and Clinton in the State of Ohio beg leave respectfully to represent that a post route for a weekly mail is much needed in the direction hereafter described, and that it will accomodate if established a large and populous section of country, and that the inhabitants along the proposed route can only communicate with each other at present by a long and circuitous route, the transition of a letter frequently occupying more time than is required to transmit one across the Atlantic. The route proposed is as follows: From Wilmington, Clinton County to Georgetown, Brown County; leaving Wilmington every Thursday morning, passing through Morrisville, Martinsville, Lynchburgh, Dodsonville, Pricetown, Buford, Newhope to Georgetown at 12 noon on Friday; leaving Georgetown every Friday evening at two o’clock and returning to Wilmington every Saturday evening. We would, therefore, respectfully ask that the aforesaid route be granted and your petitioners &c.
