To the Honerable the Senate and house of Representatives of the United States in Congress assembled
The petitions of the undersigned Citizens of the Counties of Montgomery Bucks and Lehigh in the state of Pennsylvania Respectfully sheweth, That whereas our community labor under an inconvenience for want of a mail route between the village of Sumneytown in the county of Montgomery and the village of Emaus in the county of Lehigh a distance of Eighteen miles [?] And whereas a line of stages have recently been established and are now running regularly three times a week between those places. We the undersigned do respectfully pray your honerable bodies to establish a mail route between Sumneytown & Emaus the above mentioned places. the mail to be carried three times a week each way in stage
