To the Honerable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in Congress assembled
The petitions of the undersigned citizens of the Counties1 of Montgomery Bucks and Lehigh in the State of Pennsylvania
Respectfully sheweth. That whereas, our community labor under an inconveniance fore want of a mail-route between the village of Sumnytown in the County of Montgomery,
and the village of Emaus, in the County of Lehigh a distance of Eighteen Miles, and
whereas a line of Stages have recently been established and are now running regularly
three times a week between those places, We, the undersigned, do respectfully pray
your honorable bodies to establish a Mail route between Sumnytown and Emaus, the above
Mentioned places, the Mail to be carried three times a week each way in stage and
we will pray, &co.
