To the Congress of the United States
Your petitioners citizens of White and the adjoining Counties would represent to your Honorable body that we labour under serious inconvenience by not having a mail more than once a week. We would therefore pray you to establish a Mail Route from Monticello to Lafayette in continuation of a Route already established from South Bend Ind to Monticello and that we have a Mail on said Route twice a week. And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray &c
